Hi, this is Richard. My computer is an old PIII 866Mhz
with 256 MB. It runs win2k in english and win XP in
Chinese simplified. For the past week, i noticed my
internet speed was slow, so I called the ISP and they
restarted it and today the speed was fine. But last
night, I was on windows 2k and I noticed something like a
spyware/adware that resets the IE homepage to some search
engine and then to a porn site, so I knew something was
wrong. So I switched to XP to find some spyware remover
(I bookmarked it) and downloaded it, and I switched back
to Windows 2000. The windows seemed fine with the bars
and the boot screen, but when it gets to the blue login
screen, before the message bar even gets up (checking for
network... login that stuff), it gives me a blue screen
of death and restarts. I tried on safe mode and other
modes, it did the same thing. So I was wondering whether
this is the Sasser worm or not. And if it is, how would
I remove it, because my XP works fine right now.

Please tell me what's wrong. Thanks!

Richard
