i have never seen a need for popup blocker software... i just don't go to
websites that work like that, my screen is mine and if they are so arrogant
to think they can take it over for their advertising i don't need them. the
firewall should stop the messenger service things, a virus scanner should
prevent downloaded nasties, and safe surfing handles the rest of the crud.
