Cannot Access Win2K share from Win98SE or WinME

I have a virgin Win2K pro install, SP4, all Windows
updates. Logical drive D: needs to be shared with other
users in the workgroup, and mapped as drive S: on each
machine. There is no domain, but all Win computers are
part of the same workgroup and can be cross pinged.

On the Win2K machine, I share drive D: (or a folder in
it). Permissions are full for Everyone. A WinXP Home
machine in the workgroup can see the share after logging
in with the Win2K admin user name and password. This can
be done from Network Neighborhood or Map Network Drive.
The share can be mapped to drive S: as required.

A Win98 or ME machine, however, asks only for a password,
and not a username, so permission is denied.

How can I connect to the Win2K shared drive and map it
onto the Windows 98 & ME machines?
