You may have parasites interfering with your IE settings and want to run
something like AdAware to try and repair. The link below tells how to deal
with parasites and where to find AdAware.

Otherwise consider trying to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer. If you
find it listed in control panel add/remove programs and select it an option
