Hello,

I have a Win2K server acting as a Dial-Up VPN server. I have one internal NIC and one external NIC.

When I dial the VPN from an external client the VPN does not connect and in fact the server stops responding on the external IP. During this process I cannot ping it at all. I have to go back ot the server, disable and re-enable the NIC for it to become pingable again.

It acts like the server recieves the request and instantly the nic dies. After a while it will come back online.

This is a 2000 Server SP4, Exsrvr2000 and a DSL line. It has worked fine for years but the past few weeks it has been acting up. I have replaced all cables, NICS, switches, routers, etc.

I had an issue with the IIS lockdown tool and restored the pre-lockdown settings.

Please help, I am losing hair. Thanks
