I'm in a corporate situation attempting to set up a network connection using Microsoft Access on a desktop to a SQL Server database on a server. It is the 2nd instance of SQL server on the host that the user needs to link tables to. To do this, I need to modify the default port setting on the desktop to see the 2nd SQL Server. I start the ODBC wizard and select Client Configuration which brings up a window called, "Add Network Configuration" which is where the network protocol is selected and the server and port #'s are specified. Under the security setting on the machine - the current user is unable to save these settings. Does anyone know what keys in the registry, assuming that's where its stored, are used to store this information?
