You need the NetWare client (if you're using NetWare 4x), as far as I know.
And there's always a Windows logon. You can create local accounts that match
the name/pw of the NW credentials, and the NW client will give you the
option to log into Windows at the same time as NW. Password changes can be
more complicated in this setup & I'm not sure what the answer is (I haven't
used NetWare for a while) but I foggily remember that the NW client will ask
you if you also want to change the Windows password as well....corrections
