I am trying to generate and install a certificate to enable SSL on a small
embedded web server that is used to manage/configure an antivirus component.
I generated the request through the AV's web server interface as instructed.
I copied the resultent text of the request to use with windows certificate
services. I then used the web interface of my certification authority's
server to make an 'advanced' request where it did give me the opportunity to
paste in the text of the request generated from the embedded antivirus web
interface. I was issued a cert with no problem. However when pasting the new
cert text (base64) into the antivirus web interface I get the following
error:

Error: Certificate contains an invalid extension -- expecting WebServer
extension.

I don't know where to go from here? The antivirus vendor does not support
using windows cert services so I can't get help from them. You can use a
cert generated from a windows cert server but they just won't help you with
it.

can anyone here help me out? Its a windows 2000 server sp4 CA. The AV
software is Symantec Antivirus for Gateways 3.1.

any help is appreciated. Thanks.
