Hi my friend has a windows XP home edition Intel 1.1.G celoron. He actually
got 2 virus's on his computer minutes after havinging Broadband installed.
Someone went & had a look at it for him & couldnt get rid of the virus he
had Sasser he also had another virus which I cant remember the name.
We installed SP1 this fixed the problem for about 5 minutes of being on the
net. After scanning the harddisk using the latest virus definitions It didnt
find anything but when I run netstat from a command prompt the machine is
sending out lots of pings or requests or something to all IP address's
I then installed a firewall..(I know should have done this before blocking
programs I didnt think should access teh net & it worked fine.
So my question is this related to the Sasser virus we patched it using the
patch from the Microsoft site. We allso checked the machine by using the
website as well. & it said we didnt have it... does anyone have any ideas.
Thanks in advance
Davina,
Lost Angel
