Hotfix 841382 failed - what next?

Received hotfix 841382 which supposedly fixes issues with
KB835732. Applied to test PC (W2K Prof), and it actually
made the problem worse! Still cannot access services such
as device manager, network folders, pc hangs, same CNC
Notification error.

I was able to reverse the effects of KB835732 but simply
uninstalling it. As instructed by MS support, I re-
installed KB835732, and then patched it with 841382.

I have since removed both - and now the problems cannot be
reversed.

Does anyone have any suugestions?
