I think a better approach would be to logon as the built in administrator and unlock
the account. The built in administrator account can not be locked out to interactive
logon. In a domain, anyone in the domain admins group should be able to logon and do
the same. If not a domain, and you do not know the local administrators password,
there are utilities that can reset the built in administrators password to those who
have full physical access to a computer. I "think" than an upgrade installation would
also fix the problem but require the reinstall first of the service pack and then
critical updates. An upgrade install basically reinstalls the operating system on top
of itself and should not cause any problems with hard drive space or cpu/memory. ---
