See the following two links on file and registry settings to check, which could
possibly be applied via Group Policy. I have also seen where installing Norton
SystemWorks has caused the security tab to disappear, but that was on an XP machine
of mine. You might need to try an upgrade install to fix the problem which will
require that you first install your service pack and then critical updates. If you
have a backup of the System State from a time before the problem showed up, it may be
worth while trying to restore that. Also see the last link on restoring security
settings to default defined values which you might consider trying with the " /areas
regkeys filestore" to reset file and registry permissions. --- Steve
