I have set up exactly the same configuration, Cisco PIX as PPTP server
and W2K and XP as PPTP clients, and it works fine. Your problem may be
that you dont give the clients a DNS server address or dont have set up
a default domain name.

On PIX you use the command
vpdn group <group-number> client configuration dns <your-dns-server>
to give the connecting clients automatically the address of your DNS
server. <group-number> is usually 1.

If you have set up DNS and it still does not work, does is work if they
use the full domain name to the server, i.e. "server.domain.com" instead
of just "server"? If that is the case you can set up your domain name as
a default domain suffix on the connection on the client computer.
