Administrator Password

The administrator password has expired on my machine and now I can't load, upgrade, or add new hardware. Is there any work around. Loaded Windows 2000 so we could upgrade our accounting software and didn't have a clue what we were getting into. Called Microsoft for help and they don't get involved in such stuff (as I was told this morning). Anyone have a
tip or a way to fix.
