Hi,
If its XP,
You need to do a repair install.
To do this, IIRC, bung in the XP CD, boot off it, proceed as tho you were
going to do an install, it will detect that you have XP installed already
and ask you if you want to do a repair. Reapply SP1 if it was one and
reapply all security patches.
You may need to check you boot options in your bios before doing this, and a
backup of your data prior to starting is a very good idea.
