Suddenly Denial of getting into Control Panel....

Hello to everyone.
This is my issue...I need your assistance. I use Windows
2000 Pro English version with Service Pack 4. All things
were good until today when i realised that when i try to
run SETTINGS->CONTROL PANEL it gives me a message that says
"Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows.You will need to restart the program.An error log
is been created"
I should tell you that i have 2 pc's both connected via
LAN.The first can be connected to Internet.The second
don't.In the first pc i use a Firewall program, just in
case someone wants to hack my pc.Is there any chance
someone to end-close a service in the NoInternet pc (which
runs all the time the Network Connection Program-so it's
online everytime i open the Network Connection Program to
my internet connected-pc).
