Try this.
Start/Run/gpedit.msc
Navigate to:
User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Internet Explorer
Tweak some settings like:
Disable changing connection settings - Disabled
Disable changing automatic connection settings - Disabled
If these settings were set up by domain admin, you may be unable to change
them.
I personally like to make new connections in Control panel/Network
connections. I make shortcuts of these connections to desktop. I then
establish connection first by clicking on a shortcut and then open IE
second.
