When dynamically assigning the IP address, there is no default gateway shown in ipconfig /all. There is in the ipconfig /all view of the static IP address fields Is this where the problem lies, and how can I force DHCP to set it on the laptop?

     Is your DHCP server handing out the proper subnet, gateway, and DNS? When
     you do ipconfig /all after using DHCP, does the info you get match what you
