messenger service

Does anybody know how to stop the windows messenger
service? I don't have aol instant messenger or anything. I
am on a Local area network so I stay online. every time I
get up in the morning I see this instant window messenger
on my screen displaying "go to this website to stop ads
like this your windows messenger is open" Can this be
stopped...please help. please reply at
