You don't logon to a workgroup - only a domain or local machine, though you can
authenticate against a workgroup machine. Maybe if you give a little more detail
in exactly what the problem is, we can help. Always try to ping a machine by ip
address and name that you are trying to access to determine network
connectivity. Often running netdiag can help resolve networking issues by
running a battery of tests and reporting a pass or fail. Client for Microsoft
networks also needs to be installed and enabled to access any network
