accessing secure sites

I can surf the web fine, but when accessing my bank,or
other secure sites, when I put in name and password I
get "The page cannot be found,blah, blah,blah, Cannot find
server or DNS error"
I used to be able to access these sites just fine for ever.
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
