You said you deleted him on the server. If you deleted his account and
recreated it with the same name, you will need to delete and recreate him in
ntfs/share permissions if he is referred to by his account for access
permissions and not group membership since his sid would have changed which
is one reason why using local groups to issue permissiosns is preferred. If
his new computer is XP, be sure that the ICF firewall is disabled as it will
interfere with lan traffic in the default state. Double check that the logon
name and password match exactly on his computer and the server keeping in
mind that passwords are case sensitive. You also could enable auditing of
account logon events for sucess and failure on the server where you could
view the security log in Event Viewer for failures that may be helpful in
determining the cause of the problem. Assuming that the new computer is XP
Pro, there may also be issues with security options such as smb signing, lan
manager auhentication level, or others. An exact error message of what he is
getting when he attempts access to the server share would be helpful. ---
