Hi Steve. Going to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/ may
help and there is an active Microsoft.public.windowsupdate newsgroup. You
also might try disabling statrup programs that show in the lower left hand
corner such as antivirus, chat, filesharing, media, seti, etc that you may
have on your installation before going to Windows Update. --- Steve
