    Try logging on as a user with administrative rights and then delete the
    administrator profile using the my computer/system properties/advanced/user
    profiles settings. Then try to log back on as the administrator and a new
    profile should be created. If you are using EFS file encryption, keep in
    mind that the administrator may be the default recovery agent if computer
    is not in a domain. Sounds like profile is corrupted. --- Steve
