I upgraded a W2K Pro workstation to XP Pro. This system is a member of a
domain. Whenever I rebooted the machine and try to login I get the error
message stating that the username or password is incorrect. I am the domain
administrator so I checked my account on the DC and everything is fine. So
I tried to reset the computer account in the domain and receive an error
message stating "revision level unknown". OK, now I'm confused even more.
I try to change the workstation to a workgroup but get the same error
message. I removed the computer account from the DC and tried again but
still get the same message. I have tried using Netdom to add the computer
account but still get the same error. I have added the computer account
back to the DC and used Netdom to try to reset the secure channel but still
get the same error. Now I'm completely confused. I can't change the
workstation to a workgroup and I can't get it to connect to the domain.

Has anyone seen the "revision level unknown" error?
Does anyone know how to manually set a workstation to a workgroup? I guess
I could do a parallel install of the OS but that is always a mess to get
everything working right.
