Geez, you impress me ! Thanks.
Just to let you know, these are the IT dept tech machines
having these problems...lol. Not our staff machines, whom
we have made powerusers.

I am using my machine as the built in Admin, not logging
onto a domain and not a member of any other group. So,
there shouldn't be anything overriding or interfering with
full admin rights, right? :)

Also, to get even deeper here (if this is too much for you
I understand), my own machine which I am vigilant about
when applying service paks, patches, virus def updates etc
when they are available has acted strange in other ways as
well. Such as my copy and paste disappearing. I read on
another forum that this was a symptom of blaster, even
though I never had reason to suspect I was infected, I had
none of the typical blaster symptoms at all, but I applied
the blaster patch again anyway (even though I should have
been protected since I do updates every couple of days and
definitely had done one several times since the release of
the patch )and ran the Symantec removal tool which did not
find blaster.

Maybe I'll just do an fdisk and save myself grief.

Thanks Once Again
