When my Win2k starts now it says "applying safety policy" (I translate from
French) after "preparing network connections" (before logon). I don't recall
    it was the case before.

I did open gpedit.msc once (for a setting about the recovery console), but I
changed my mind and turned it back to its default. Yet I suspect this is the
    reason.

How could I completely reset the group policy settings so as to get rid of
    this time-consuming startup message?

    TIA,
