Glad to help. Sorry we couldn't get it fully back up and running smoothly,
but I'm thinking this is a better result than constant crashes!

Thanks to everyone for the support and suggestions.
Edward's suggestion wasn't able to repair Windows
completely, but it got me to where I was able to do a
backup (very important since I haven't done one
recently).  If the patch is still there (it shouldn't be)
I'll try to uninstall it.  Next I can do a clean install
of Windows and programs and then restore the data. The
outcome could have been much worse, but I'm going to
backup before any patch in the future and write down the
patch numbers before I click on install.
