restriction for particular user for particular software

Hi
      we have the compac system and we installed
windows2000 server in the server. and other clients having
windows xp.
     we created domain in that server and users also.

Note: everything is authorised(licence) cds.

     some mechanical softwares are installed in that
server.

The problem:
             1) when the user enter into anyone client
system he has to access one or two mechanical software and
we have to give the restriction for rest of the software.
and he can access the windows application only.

             2) the same process have to do in anyother
client system for anyother user in the same server.
             3) different users access different software.

i want to the solution for the above.

         1. how to set the path for the particular user.
if i create a group, how to set the path for that group
for particular software.

what i already tried:

             i created the user in that server in some
domain name. after i entered the client system. i give the
user name, password, and domain name.
             but it will access all the software.
            
           after that i tried in user properties in the
server. it will show profile,accounts,terminal
service,session,environment and all. so how to set the
path. we have to give the particular software executed
option only.

            shall i install anyother components.

please give the detail solution. don't say "refer this and
all".
       i want the solution from your knowledge.
