ntdll.dll error--please help

I have been trying to download the patch to protect my
computer from that nasty-virus-bug-thing going around. I
keep getting the following message:
"The Windows2000-KB823980-X86-ENUC1D.EXE file is linked to
missing export NTDLL.DLL: NtShutdownSystem"
And then access is denied

So what in the world do I do now? Very clueless. Thanks
in advance for any help you can offer.
