Windows 2000 Login Password

I have an older Toshiba Laptop. I tried to get it to
communicate with my newer Toshiba Laptop. I was prpmpted
to proceed via a Network Wizard. After I made my
selections, both systems were prompted to reboot. After
the reboot,I could not get past the Windows Login using my
normal User Name and Password. My newr Toshiba Laptop was
issued to me from my work, so I brought it in and the
Syatem Administrator fixed it. However, I still cannot get
logged on with my older Toshiba. Nobody will help me
because I didn't purchase it from them. I was told that
the user name is administrator, but i cannot get the
proper password. I can't reformat my hard drive, because
my work saved on the hard drive is not backed up and is
invaluable. The person I purchased this older Laptop from
is deceased and I and stuck.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME....
