client unable to update from sus server

I have some questions regarding software update services-
1) is it works on workgroup environment ?
 
2) on client machines in control panel automatic update
settings are there
but there is no option to give sus server name .So how
come client know from
where it will have to take updates ?
 
3) is it possible to push updates from sus server to
clients ?
 
Descripsion of My setup on which i am testing software
update services :-
 
1) i am using it workgroup environment
2) most of clients has win2k operating system.
3) has one server installed win2k3 evaluation version and
installed Sus on
it.
 
 
Status :-
1) Sus installed successfully.
2) able to download updates from microsoft server ( able
to synchronize
server)
3) client systems has automatic update client which comes
with service pack
3 of win2k.
 
problem:-
1) client unable to get update from sus server.
2) from where i come to know that updates insatlled on
client.
