Hi,
I don't know if this is the appropriate group to post in
but I'm going to ask anyway. We have been asked to look
into 802.1x port based security. Cisco's website says that
it is necessary to run a client with 802.1x compliant
software. XP has it built in. I did a search on 802.1x in
the MS knowledgebase and found what I thought to be the
right article on this subject. It suggested that the W2K
client does not have 802.1x built in but that it is
possible with SP 3 and patch Q313664. According to the
article (313664), after applying the patch there should be
a tab on the properties window of my LAN connection for
authentication. It's there on my XP machine. I applied the
patch and looked for everything that the article suggested
but the tab is not there. My PC is running W2K with SP3
applied and I am applying the patch with administrative
rights. Anyone know about this? Thanks.
