I am running SP3 on around 400 servers I directly manage and probably 2000 servers in our company have it and they are
fine as well as tens of thousands of client machines.
With SP's you ALWAYS set up a test machine that mimics your production machine and you upgrade that and then matrix test
the machine to make sure it performs properly. You could have no problems whatsoever but the person in the cube next to
you could have issues.
One thing people always forget when doing SP upgrades though is to TURN OFF AV SOFTWARE or any other software that
intercepts and processes files at the driver level before the OS gets a chance. That accounts for many issues.
