    Marina,

    Yes, it is part of the local computer administrator's group. I
    received an email from someone regarding this post that said,

    "We have a large number of HP scanners that we cant use at the school
    with windows 2000. The HP install program puts the driver in current
    user section of the registery and when you log on as anything else,
    even a diferent administrator other than the one that installed the
    unit you are a diffrent current user."

    I'm not sure how this affects this from a rights perspective, but
    maybe this will help with some ideas.

    I was out of the country for a week and didn't have access to the
    internet, so sorry about my delayed response.
