Remote Access Design

Hi

can anyone point me to a good resource for Remote access
solution. I have remote access working but i would like to
integrate with the user login permissions and map of
network drives etc
Also on the event log i see 0 bytes trafered per session
Any idea how to read the logs for routing and remote
access.
Also resource for trouble shooting site to site VPN would
be great
