Recovery agent cert

Working with a 2 domain forest w2k.
Trying to export the recovery cert along with the private
key.
This works from the first domain but not the second.
When encrypting a file in the domain that was loaded
second efsinfo reports the recovery agent cert is the
domain administrator from the first domain but the
thumbprint is different.

Same user but two different thumbprints?

The private key seems to only be available on the first
domain controller loaded.

When trying to export the second domains recovery key the
private key is not available.
Any ideas
