A suggested solution:
Create a single user account in your domain for printing (say "PrintUser").
Lock this user down as much as you wish -- for example don't let it log on
locally on the domain PCs. Just give it access to the network printer.
You can then use this common account to map the network printer for each
user on the workgroup machine. You could script this addition (eg see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263226 for a start
in that direction.)
