PIN requested

I run Windows 2000 on an Acer Laptop TM 630. After
reactivation from the sleep mode, it occasionally pops up
rather with the usual log-in window with a request for a
PIN. No user-name, no domain, just a field for entering a
PIN. I have not been able to determine what causes the
occurrence of this bug, nor how to solve it. Closing the
lid (and thus putting it back into standby) helps 3 times
out of 4, then the usual log-on screen appears.

Any ideas how to disable this?
