Administrator vs Administrators Group

We have an installation problem with some software that seems to want to be
installed as Administrator but still has problems when installed by a member
of the Administrators group.

What are the intrinsic differences between the two. I would have thought
that a member of the Administrators group would have the exact same
privledges.
