If they are set to not configured then they aren't doing anything, the only
time a policy is actually running is if it set to enable or disabled. the
browser itself and it's configuration deals with the activeX. Have you tried
setting security in IE to low to just see if ActiveX controls were working
at that point?

Try it and see, if they do then there is a setting somewhere in IE ( I am
assuming here) is causing the problem. I had a similar problem and when I
did custom level and went through each setting it worked fine.

Allen,
I tried your suggestion, but alas, the error is still coming up. Do you have
any other suggestions? I am beginning to think the problem is in the group
policy permissions. I have all policies set to "Not Configured", but that
may be where the problem lies. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks for your help,
Ted
