Hi Peter,

Perhaps the program associated with the files in question is:

- Creating a *.tmp file to hold the modifications
- The *.tmp file is inheriting the DENY permissions from the folder
- Then, when changes are saved, the program is deleting the previously saved version
of the file and replacing it with the (renamed) .tmp file, with the inherited DENY
permissions.

This is what happens with Microsoft Word and the solution is set the minimum
permission setting needed in order to open, edit, and save a document within a
Windows 2000 folder.

: Hi there,
:
: I have a shared drive with subfolders. Users should be
: able to create and modify files in the subfolders but not

: to their files. What do I miss? Help would be appreciated.
