Hi zhumphries,

Run gpedit.msc and check Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security
Settings\Local Policies\Security Options to see if any of the four SMB signing
policies (Digitally sign client communication...) are enabled. If any of them
are, the following newsgroup post may answer your question.

: Hi
:
: I wondering if anyone can help with this. We are running a windows 2000
: network with Windows XP clients. I am using group policy and folder
: redirection to map my documents to a network share (via DFS). Exclusive
: access is granted via the GPO
:
: Some users are experience intermittent "access denied" error messages
: (mostly when they first login) for some users the problem goes away after
: they have been logged in for 5 mins of so, but for the rest, they cannot
: access there files.
:
: Both NTFS & Share permissions are setup correctly.
:
: Any ideas
