After you have rebuilt the Machine is the D drive visable
in Explorer?
If it is then you should be able to log on to the machine
with an account with administrative priviledges and chnage
the ownership of the Files - Check out
technet.microsoft.com for information about taking
ownership of files and folders - your files should be
visable again.
