i have Unix services for windows running on a 2K machine.
it is currently all configured and running, passing data
between our unix and windows networks.
the problem is that i need to create departmental folders
under the root NFS share on the 2K machine. if i create
it from windows and set the required permissions icant
access the folders from UNIX as permission is denied. if
i change the permissions from UNIX to allow me to access
the folders it over writes all previous permissions set up
in windows. this isnt a major problem as i can the add NT
acounts and groups into the p[ermissions to suit.
however, the modification made on the UNIX side has given
the Everyone group read rights to all folders and being
departmental this is not ideal !!
what i need is a way to give access to the UNIX accounts
without giving read rights to the everyone group.
