When we restarted about 6 of our Windows 2000 computers on
a Windows Server 2000 network. The NortonAnti-Virus
disappeared and IE had no attributes, but you could access
it. All the printers disappeared on the system. Email
became unavailable. We reinstalled the OS on them and
things appear fine right. However, when we rebooted the
server it became corrupted. We ran 3 virus scans on the
hard disk outside of the windows environment and after
talking to Symantec Tech they feel it must be a hacker.
Has anyone had anything recently happen to them like
this. The server was restored by reloading the OS
system. Data appears to be fine except one excel
spread*** that had employee yend info on it. It was
password protected on the server and it is now 87 pages of
garbage. Let me know what you have heard!
