Here's the Event log info...I get 4 of these differing
only in logon type...first a 3,8,2 and 5. This has
happened on all my DCs - my solution was to simply
uninstall the .NET framework. I'd still like to know why
all of a sudden this is happening.

Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 529
Date: 4/1/2003
Time: 8:17:01 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: OCDAHOC
Description:
Logon Failure:
Reason: Unknown user name or bad password
         User Name: ASPNET
         Domain: OCDAHOC
         Logon Type: 3
         Logon Process: Advapi
         Authentication Package:
        MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
         Workstation Name: OCDAHOC
