There is no trust relationship in either direction between
Domain A & Domain B which are separated by a firewall. To
be able to see the resources of Domain B from Domain A I
have to create a corresponding account in Domain B with
the same username & password.
Why is it that I can connect seamlessly (i.e. without
having to 'Connect As') to ONE server in Domain B (which
is the PDC) whereas for all other servers it seems I have
to 'connect as' the Domain B account - either by mapping a
drive beforehand or responding to the challenge as & when
prompted.
Is it because the seamless connection is to the PDC ? Is
is it a Named Pipes thing ? Is it a firewall setting
difference ?
TIA
Bryn
