What else is accessable on that server from the internet?
What other ports do you have open?
Why do you have them open?
What do you use them for?
Messenger service popups are a symptom of holes, of vulnerabilities.
What other holes and vulnerabilities do you have?
Can you drill down into the nic card properties, under WINS and click on
"disable netbios over tcp/ip"?
