You have to create a user account/password (remember password is case
sensitive) on the W2K machine that is the same as you use to log onto your
W98 machine for Microsoft Networking - or some say enable the guest account,
though I have never tried that. If that does not work you may have to loosen
some security options/user rights in Local Security Policy on your W2K
machine. Two that come to mind right away are - additional retrictions for
anonymous can not be "deny unless explicitly allowed", and access this
computer from the network might need to include the everyone group for W98
